Drama Classes & Workshops

On January 20, 2026 the Gaston School of the Arts board unanimously approved a $6 a month increase for art, drama classes, and music lesson tuition starting with the fall 2026 semester due to the increase in operating expenses. This does not include productions that are billed at a flat rate but does include one on one lessons. The website now reflects this change. A reminder, there is the Eugenia Evans Scholarship Fund to assist those with demonstrated financial need. Application information is found under our resource section of this website.

One on One Drama Lessons

These 30 minute lessons help actors and acting students achieve their goals by developing their individual skills and hone their craft. We offer training to children and adult actors as well. We work with people of all stages in their artistic journeys, from beginner to professional. We would love to see how we can help you today!

Advanced Theatre Arts Class

This class is for seasoned performer who are interested in doing a straight play instead of a musical. This class will focus on acting skills and take you out of your comfort zone if all you have previously done is musicals.

  • Day: Saturday

  • Time: 10:50 AM-1:00 PM

  • Cost: $300 per semester ($200 if also doing Alice in Wonderland)

  • Age: 9-18 years old

Beginners Theatre Arts Class

NEW DATES FOR SPRING 2027 COMING SOON

Introduction to basic theatre arts, regardless of the age of the student. The student will learn: Vocabulary, Stage positions, building character, imagination, creativity, the six basic emotions and much more. They will work on show from start to finish, ending with a live performance of the show.

One Day Drama Workshops

For all workshops, students are asked to wear clothing they are comfortable moving in, shoes that stay on their feet, and bring a water bottle labeled with their name.
